Greater Buffalo Provides Support to Survivors in Response to Mass Shooting
In response to last weekend’s horrific mass shooting in Buffalo, The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo has launched the Buffalo Together Community Response Fund, which will support the survivors of the deceased and those directly affected by this tragedy.
The Fund will also address community needs beyond those directly impacted — which extends the foundation's ongoing and leading-edge work in advancing equity.
“Together, we must double down— all of us, from every corner of Buffalo and beyond— to end racism,” the foundation said in announcing the fund on Facebook. “This is the only way to create real change and emerge from the darkness of this heinous act. Buffalo is stronger together.”
In addition to the Community Response Fund, supporters can also donate to the Buffalo 5/14 Survivors Fund – which is organized by the National Compassion Fund and will provide direct financial assistance to the survivors of the deceased and those directly affected by this tragedy.
The May 14 mass shooting left 10 people dead and many others wounded and traumatized.
