Community Foundation of Boulder County Collects $17 Million for Victims of Marshall Fire

Help is on the way for those who were impacted by the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history.

The Community Foundation of Boulder County will distribute $17 million in donations to support victims of the Marshall fire, which destroyed nearly 1,000 homes in Boulder County on December 31.

Through the generosity of more than 52,000 donors who contributed to the Boulder County Wildfire Fund, $5 million will be used to coordinate with government and nonprofit partners, align resources, and fill gaps to support those most impacted by the wildfire.

An additional $500,000 will support the needs of evacuees.

The foundation is creating an advisory committee to decide how to best distribute the remaining funds and to guide future grantmaking decisions.

The foundation will also continue to work closely with its partners to provide support to the many individuals and families affected by the wildfire.
