$536.6M and Counting: Donors Across Country Rally to Support Covid-19 Relief

A diverse coalition of individuals, companies, and foundations have rallied to mobilize $536.6 million to support community foundation-led Covid-19 relief efforts across the United States.

That figure includes funds managed by more than 325 community foundations in all 50 states that have provided figures to the Community Foundation Public Awareness Initiative.

Much of that money is already at work in communities -- with more to come over the coming weeks.

Community Foundations' Covid-19 Response Now Totals $462.1 Million

Nearly 300 community foundations nationwide have mobilized more than $429.1 million to provide critical support to those affected by Covid-19, according to new data from the Community Foundation Public Awareness Initiative.

Of that figure, nearly $100 million has already been granted to nonprofits who are working to provide food, shelter and other basic needs; help schools purchase and distribute computers to students who would otherwise not be able to access distance learning programs; and offer a long list of other critical services.

Community Foundations Ramp Up Covid-19 Response, Mobilizing $411.3M to Those in Need

Nearly 250 community foundations in all 50 states have collectively mobilized more than $353 million to provide critical support to those affected by Covid-19, according to new data from the Community Foundation Public Awareness Initiative.

In many communities, some of that money is already helping provide food, shelter, and other urgent needs. To date, community foundations have publicly announced more than $54.8 million in grants to local nonprofits. Many others are expecting to allocate their first round of grants within the next week.
