California Community Foundations Activate Wildfire Recovery Funds

Updated: January 28, 2025

Community foundations across California are activating rapid response funds to help those impacted by the devastating wildfires that have displaced nearly 200,000 people in and around Los Angeles.

Donors who are interested in supporting community-based efforts are invited to contribute to the following funds:

California Community Foundation's fund will provide long-term recovery relief to the most underserved communities in the region that need it most, including the Native American, Muslim, migrant and non-native English-speaking communities – as well as children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities.

The community foundation helps bridge financial gaps by collaborating with local foundations and nonprofit organizations that are already providing emergency aid to wildfire survivors and first responders.

Also please consider Kern Community Foundation’s Borel Fire Relief Fund which is addressing relief efforts from a separate crisis late last year.

Other resources, including links to the local Habitat for Humanity, California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen and more can be found here.
