Community Foundations Launch Funds to Aid Hurricane Milton Response

Donors who want to support those impacted by Hurricane Milton are encouraged to support Florida community foundations that have created funds to support relief and recovery efforts.

These relief funds will help with emergency food, shelter, clothing, medical treatment and more. 

You can help those in the storm’s path by amplifying or donating to the funds listed below. 

If your community foundation has launched a fund that isn’t included, please email us and we’ll add them to the list once verified.

Community foundation response funds include:

Collaboratory

SWFL Emergency Relief Fund

In partnership with United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties to collectively help Southwest Florida rebuild, supporting local nonprofits helping individuals needing immediate and long-term resources to recover.

Collier Community Foundation

Collier Comes Together Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund

To benefit local nonprofit programs and relief efforts, getting funds where they are needed most.

Community Foundation of Sarasota County

Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund

To provide recovery support to the Suncoast Region in response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The fund will allow investments in long-term, long-range programs to sustain our agencies after initial emergency relief is provided.

The Season of Sharing County in Greatest Need

To provide targeted financial assistance for necessities like rent, utilities, car repairs or other emergency expenses to individuals on the brink of homelessness in response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton. This fund supports the greatest need within Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto and Charlotte counties.

Community Foundation Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay Rapid Response Fund

This fund supports area nonprofits working on the front lines of Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief efforts in our area. Money will be deployed to local nonprofits to address needs

Gulf Coast Community Foundation

Rapid Response Fund

Gulf Coast's Rapid Response Fund will support the community and our partners when a natural disaster impacts our service area. Our staff will work with local organizations following the disaster to gather boots-on-the-ground intelligence which will inform the deployment of these funds to the areas of greatest need as quickly as possible. The needs can and will evolve depending on the circumstances of each disaster. Our promise to you is that your gifts will be used to provide life-sustaining support to those impacted.

Indian River Community Foundation

United Way of Indian River County Disaster Recovery Fund

Hurricane Milton has left a profound impact on Indian River County, and the road to recovery will be long. But we are a strong, resilient community, and even in the face of such devastation, we are already seeing the power of neighbors coming together to help one another. In an effort to help alleviate widespread catastrophic effects from Hurricane Milton and to encourage more donations, Indian River Community Foundation is giving $1 million to the United Way of Indian River County’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund.

United Way of Indian River County has activated the Disaster Recovery Fund to provide immediate assistance and long-term support to those affected by the storm. This fund ensures that we can respond swiftly to help those who have lost homes, livelihoods, and a sense of stability, while also focusing on the long-term rebuilding efforts our community will need to fully recover.

United Community Relief Fund

In partnership with United Way of Central Florida, the United Community Relief Fund supports local nonprofit organizations that are providing services in Hardee, Highlands, and Polk counties to those affected by disasters impacting our community.
