North Texas Community Foundation COVID-19 Grantmaking Surpasses $1 Million

U.S. community foundations continue to play a leading role in mobilizing funding and providing critical support to nonprofits working to help those impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Community Foundation Public Awareness Initiative has now tracked more than $1.4 billion in grants from community foundations in response to the pandemic. And many groups are continuing to collect and distribute critical funding.

For example, the North Texas Community Foundation recently announced that it has now  granted more than $1 million in COVID-19 response funds to nonprofits through its Better Together Fund. The fund was established in 2020 in response to the pandemic and rapidly mobilized funds to support frontline organizations in their region.

Its latest grants support groups helping children and families impacted by COVID-19.

“When North Texas Community Foundation created the Better Together Fund, our immediate goal was to ensure the health and safety of everyone in our region,” said Rose Bradshaw, President & CEO of North Texas Community Foundation. “Over a year later, many of our friends, families and neighbors continue to be impacted by the pandemic.”
