Community Foundations Issue Strong Statements on Anti-Asian Hate Crimes

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is among a growing number of U.S. community foundations that have raised their voices in the wake of this week’s shootings in Atlanta that have left eight people dead.

“We believe these acts of violence against our fellow Americans defy human dignity and decency,” the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta said in a statement posted to its website.

“We speak loudly and stand together against racism and misogyny to be the beloved community we aspire to be.”

While the tragedy hit close to home in Atlanta, this week’s events have also prompted several other community foundations to issue statements. They include:
