Communities Foundation of Texas Receives $1 Million Donation Toward Covid-19 Relief

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas has partnered with Communities Foundation of Texas and a statewide network of community foundations in the Lone Star state to administer its $1 million COVID-19 Collaborative Grant Fund

The fund aims to support those most impacted by the pandemic.

CFT is enlisting a statewide network of community foundations to quickly identify emerging health, economic, and social needs, and move funds more efficiently.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s donation will provide personal protective equipment for first responders, childcare for healthcare professionals, and meal and grocery delivery for senior adults.

“Community foundations across Texas have a long history of supporting local communities and helping families and individuals thrive. This $1 million investment will help address some of Texas' most urgent needs related to COVID-19," said Monica Egert Smith, Chief Relationship Officer at Communities Foundation of Texas.

For over 65 years the Communities Foundation of Texas has worked across the state through various charitable funds and strategic initiatives to provide support to residents, and is currently the largest community foundation in their state specializing in building thriving communities.
